The Aurora  honeyberry is a cross between the Russian 'Solovey' and the Japanese 'MT46.55' varieties. Discovered by the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 2012, it's a good variety for commercial growers and gardeners.

The fruit of the 'Aurora' variety is very sweet, juicy, and large (approx. 1.8-2.2g). Its sugar content is approximately 17 brix. It does not shed. It has an elongated, wide shape, sometimes pear-shaped. It is a late-bearing variety, harvested in the second half of June and lasting for a month. The skin is blue with a waxy coating. 'Aurora' can produce a harvest weighing up to 5kg (a mature bush), making it one of the most productive varieties. It is also excellent for preserves.
