Desert King Fig NEW

Desert King' is a summer fig variety that ripens as early as July, is extremely productive, and boasts good winter hardiness. However, the figs themselves are green even when ripe and therefore inconspicuous. They are, however, very juicy and sweet, and feature unexpectedly red flesh.

The summer fig 'Desert King' sets tiny figs as early as late autumn. These begin to grow with the emergence of leaves the following spring and therefore ripen as early as July. The fruits develop parthenocarpically, meaning without fertilization.
'Desert King' is a very vigorous, but somewhat sparsely growing fig variety.

Figs grow quite well in pots so can be moved inside in winter and out after last frost.
