Hardy Banana Musa Dajiao NEW

Musa basjoo 'Dajiao' is known to be the hardiest species of banana tree with edible fruits. However, its hardiness is still limited (-7°C (19.4°F) approximately) and only allows for planting in open ground in mild climates along the Atlantic coast. This beautiful banana tree with a fast growth rate reaches about 3m (10ft) in height and can be grown in containers in colder regions, as long as it can be brought indoors in winter. Its flowering appears after 2 years of cultivation, in late spring or summer, and produces clusters of small, fragrant and edible bananas, even in the UK!
