The 'Szafer' cornelian cherry (grafted) is a  variety bred at the Bolestraszyce Arboretum. It is considered one of the sweetest and tastiest varieties of cornelian cherry.

 

Szafer' produces fruit evenly, with the fruit ripening in early September. They are pear-shaped, medium-sized (approx. 3–5.5 g), with dark red skin. They are characterized by a very high sugar content (approx. 16%) and high vitamin C. The juice is intensely colored, and the stone is relatively small (approx. 14%). They are abundantly harvested – up to 25 kg of fruit can be harvested from a mature bush.
