Fernette Walnut Bareroot

The Fernette walnut was bred in France in 1993 as a cross between the Franquette and Lara varieties. Fernette is a late-ripening, exceptionally aromatic walnut variety with very high, consistent yields and good pollination characteristics

The Fernette walnut tree is a moderately vigorous, upright tree. This walnut, originating from France, requires less space than, for example, its parent variety, Franquette. The grafted walnut tree typically reaches a height of 6 to 8 meters.

This variety is very productive because its branching is predominantly vertical. This allows light to penetrate the crown effectively, increasing the number of blossoms and thus the number of harvestable nuts.
